Sell Online on Your Website With Stripe, Step by Step

What it's for

The Online payment option adds a secure payment button to your website so you can sell a product, a service or a subscription. You connect your own Stripe account: the money from your sales goes straight into it. Flopix never collects your payments and takes no commission; only Stripe's standard fees apply.

Before you start

• Your website must be live (active subscription, free trial included).
• A Stripe account: if you do not have one, you create it when you connect.
• Allow about five minutes.

Step by step

• Open your website, then the Advanced options tile.
• Under "Services and connections", expand the Online payment card, enable it and click Connect my Stripe.
• Sign in to Stripe (or create your account) and approve the connection: you then come back to Flopix with your account connected.
• Click Set up my sales: the Online payment page opens. In the Product tab, describe your product: name, description (optional), photo (optional) and price.
• Pick the product type (online or digital service, shipped physical product, other) and your tax setting (VAT exempt, tax included or tax excluded).
• Check Monthly subscription if you want recurring payments instead of a one-time payment.
• Click Save product: the payment button appears on your website.

What's handled for you

• Your terms and conditions of sale: write them in the Terms tab of the Online payment page, from a template or with the AI assistant. In the meantime, basic terms are displayed.
• Abandoned checkouts: check the follow-up box so customers who started paying without finishing get an email reminder.
• Orders: an Orders page appears in your menu, under My site, so you can track every sale.

Good to know

• You can edit your product anytime from the same card.
• The Remove button takes payments off your website.
• Customers pay on Stripe's secure page: you never see their card details.

Frequently asked questions

Does Flopix take a commission?

No. The money goes straight to your Stripe account.

Can I sell a subscription?

Yes: check "Monthly subscription" when you describe your product.

Why is the option locked?

Your website is not live yet. Start your subscription (the free trial is enough) and the option unlocks.
