Complete Guide: Build Your Website Step by Step With Flopix
Published on Aug 2, 2026
A guide for every step
This guide walks through every step of the form you use to build your website, one at a time. Click the light bulb next to any question in the form to land right on the step you need. The whole time, a live preview shows your website as you go, and your answers are saved as you go. Only the name is required: answer "No" to anything that does not apply to you, you can add it later.
With the AI assistant or by hand
At the start you get two choices: Create with the assistant (AI) or Create manually. With the assistant, pick a template (Restaurant, Shop / store, Salon, Other business), then write your name, address, hours, menu and links in one message: the assistant fills in the form and the live preview for you. You can switch from the Assistant tab to the Form tab anytime to adjust a detail. The steps below stay the same.Step 1: Your site name
The name shown at the top of your website: your shop, your business or your own name. Keep it clear and short: visitors see it first, and it is the basis for your website address (your-name.flopix.fr).
Step 2: Your logo
Have a logo? Click "Yes" and upload it. If not, click "No": Flopix offers ready-made logos (a letter on a gradient) that you pick in one click.Step 3: Colors
Three styles, with an accurate preview before you click:- Classic: white header, light gray background. Works for most businesses.
- Dark: navy background, white text, for a bolder look.
- My colors: you pick the header color and the background color. The text color adjusts on its own to stay readable.
Step 4: Your photos
Up to 5 photos, each with an optional caption: your shop, your dishes, your work. No photos yet? Pick from the suggested images and replace them later.Step 5: Your description
Free text to tell people about your business. Two buttons above the field insert a ready-to-fill bulleted list or table, perfect for a menu or a price list.Step 6: A call-to-action button
A button that gets visitors to act: "Book now", "See the menu", "Download the menu". It opens a link (booking site, web page) or a file (PDF, image or video). It automatically picks up your website's colors.Step 7: Delivery and takeout
Click the platforms you use (Uber Eats, Deliveroo, Just Eat) to add the link to your profile, or mention your own delivery service.Step 8: Your services
Wi-Fi, patio, air conditioning... Click a service to add it, click again to remove it. They show up as icons on your website.Step 9: Your social media
Click each network you are on (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, YouTube, X) to add the link to your profile. The icons appear on your website.Step 10: Your business hours
Set precise hours (for each day: closed, or open with morning and afternoon slots), a 24/7 status, or a temporary closure with a custom message (vacation, renovations).
Step 11: Your contact details
Address, email and phone: they display a Google Maps map and your contact options on your website. Optional, but strongly recommended if you have a physical location.Step 12: The theme
Right before the summary, choose the overall look of your website:- Essential: clean and centered, large full-width photos (default).
- Modern: app-style, photo mosaic and rounded cards.
- Magazine: large full-screen photo, elegant headings.
Step 13: The summary
Every section of your website, with its status (done, to complete, optional) and a button to fix each one in a click. You can also ask the assistant to make changes. Then pick your plan: your first subscription starts with a free trial (3 days on the monthly plan, 7 days on the annual plan) and your website goes live right away. What about Google reviews?
The Google review button is no longer part of the form: it is now the Google reviews link advanced option, which you turn on once your website is live (Advanced options tile on your website page).Don't have a Google Business Profile yet?
A Google Business Profile is free: it is what puts your business on Google Maps and in local searches. Go to google.com/business, sign in and follow the steps (name, category, address, phone, hours). Google then sends you a code to confirm the business is yours.Where to find your review link
It is a short address like https://g.page/r/... From your profile's management panel, click "Ask for reviews" (or "Get more reviews") and copy the link it gives you.Editing your website later
From your website page, the Edit my site tile reopens the same form, with a table of contents to jump to any step. A step that is already filled in offers Keep, Edit or Remove. The Edit with AI tab also lets you write your changes: the form updates, and nothing is saved until you click Save.
What about the legal notice?
The legal notice is not part of the website builder form: you fill it in afterwards, once your website is created and live, right from your website page in your dashboard. It is a legal requirement in France, not an option. Every public website in France must clearly identify its publisher. This is required by the French digital economy law (LCEN) and, as soon as you collect any personal data (a form, a contact email address), by the GDPR and the guidelines of the CNIL, the French data protection authority.
What you risk without a legal notice
- Fines under the LCEN and the GDPR.
- An inspection or a formal notice from the CNIL, which can be made public.
- An instant loss of credibility: visitors who find no name, no address and no way to reach you get suspicious and often leave without contacting you.
- Difficulty defending your rights in a dispute with a customer or a competitor.
What you need to fill in
- Purpose of the page: business, personal or nonprofit. This choice determines what information is expected next.
- Owner: a legal entity (company, nonprofit) or an individual (private person, freelancer).
- Full identity: name or company name, legal form, and for a company the share capital, SIREN number and RCS registration.
- Contact details: registered office or home address, an email and a phone number where you can actually be reached.
- For a nonprofit: prefecture registration number, prefecture city and the representative's role.
Fill in this information accurately. A vague address, a phone number nobody answers or an incomplete identity exposes you just as much as having no legal notice at all.
Did someone else build your website for you? The legal notice must be yours, not that of the person who built the site. As soon as the website belongs to you, check it and correct it: as the publisher, you are responsible for it.
Flopix provides the form and reminds you to complete it, but cannot fill it in for you or check that it is accurate: that information belongs to you alone.
